The Shore House

Situated on a 33’ wide City infill lot this new construction spec house was certified in 2010 as LEED for Homes Platinum project. It achieved the highest rated score in Canada to date, but at a relatively low per square foot building cost. The design objective was to compliment the existing “Vancouver Specials” on the street with a more upgraded Modern façade without drastically altering the fabric of the neighbourhood. A high performance building envelope with super insulated/air tight walls, Rainwater Harvesting from the roof, high efficient Heat pump/appliances/lighting, Recycled Wood and a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) are some of the key components that were incorporated to make this home truly sustainable, healthy and a light foot print on our Urban environment.
